Susan is an interdisciplinary artist who has exhibited both nationally and internationally. In addition, she has taught art through various institutions and settings. She has a B.A. in History of Art, a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and an M.A. in Art Education and an M.F.A. in Studio Art. She was a member of The Plowhaus Cooperative in East Nashville and exhibited with the group from 2006 to 2012. She also exhibited on occasions with the Nashville Untitled group from 2002 to 2012. Her work has been shown at a number of other galleries as well. Currently she volunteers as a docent at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts in Nashville and teaches at Columbia State Community College. Central to her work is the relationship between thinking practices and art making practices in which she explores various materials to create a vibrant interactive situation between the audience and the art work. Susan Striepe's interests lie in the exploration of the anthropocene and the concept of the posthuman.
