Sound Relations is a body of work that is designed to create a relational space. The audience is encouraged to interact with each other through the fragile sculptural forms. The Whispering Device can act as a conduit for secrets, random, or intentional conversations to be relayed between one participant and another. The Sound Device can be played with one or two participants and is an interaction between close listening and the actions one performs on the suspended strings. The Self Listening Device is a device that creates a situation where participants may have a conversation with themselves. The two percussion instruments create different qualities of sound. When the instruments are struck, the instrument that is closed in on itself produces a flat quiet sound and the opened out instrument has a loud symbol-like timbre.
