I recently had three of my photo-based artworks exhibited at the 1605 Gallery in Los Angeles. The exhibition was titled, "Unreal Photography." All photography has a documentary quality to it. How does one move beyond the nomenclature nature of the medium? My works in this exhibition used techniques such as sandwiching negatives, solarization, and photograms combined with digital layering and coloring to create compositions that people can interpret in new ways.
